Wednesday, July 18th

KTVF Channel 11 Kick-Off Party
5:30pm - 10pm; FREE ADMISSION
- Pioneer Park
Enjoy many musical performances, FREE hot dogs,
chips and sodas compliments of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of
Commerce and the Fairbanks Curling Lions. The Boys & Girls Club
will be serving food and providing children's activities. Have
a beverage from the Saloon as you watch the Golden Days Periode
Costume Contest, the Miss Ricki & Felix Pedro Look-A-Like
Contest and the Mt. McKinley Bank Fashion Show. KTVF Channell
11 wil be there airing the 6pm news LIVE with event updates
throughout the evening! Contest registration: 5:00pm - 6:45pm.

Weigh-In

Pioneer Park
A re-enactment of Felix Pedro's walk into town after
his discovery of gold on July 22nd, 1902. See history re-made
as Felix leads his burro through Gold Rush Town, stopping at the
Ole Time Denali State Bank where his "gold poke" will be weighed
in.
Golden Heart Utilities Old Tyme Games
6:30pm - 10pm; FREE ADMISSION - Pioneer
Park
Some of the Pioneer's favorite games to compete in are
back! Sign up for the double log saw, wood splitting, pie
eating, arm wrestling or seed spitting contest and more, to win
cash prizes. Sign up at the Kick-Off Party from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.

Show 'N Shine Classic Car Show

The Vernon L. Nash Antique Auto Club will have an array
of classic cars & trucks all shined up and on display. Proud
vehicle owners will be on hand to tellyou everything you'd like
to know about their beautiful, prized possessions.

ConocoPhillips Golden Citizen's
Luncheon
11am; FREE for Seniors - News-Miner Tent

This free event for seniors celebrates Golden Citizens
in our community who have contributed so much to making
Fairbanks a great place to live. The luncheon will also include
a 1902 Fashion Show by the Golden Daze Shop and the presentation
of the Golden Citizen's Awards.

Battle of the Bands Contest
6pm - Midnight; FREE ADMISSION - Pioneer
Park
NEW THIS YEAR! Come listen to local bands and musical
groups as they compete for the chance to be named the "2007
Golden Days Ultimate Band." If you have a band that you would
like to enter, please contact CiCi Hunter at 322-9958 or contact
the Chamber office at 452-1105. Bands will be judged by genre
and the winner's of each will compete to be named the "Golden
Days Ultimate Band." The Battle of the Bands of the Bands winner
will perform at the Street Fair on Saturday, July 21st from 5pm
- 6pm on the Northern Schools Federal Credit Union Stage and
will wrap up the days festivities.

Alyeska Pipeline Young Pioneers Day

Bring your child to this Golden Days festivity! Various
Fairbanks businesses and non-profit organizations will offer a
wide variety of booths each offering a different activity. Kids
of all ages are welcome to come create their own work of art and
compete in games. Music and entertainment will accompany this
event as your kdis play and learn about the old time Alaska
Pioneer Days.
Alyeska Pipeline Children's Parade
12:30pm; FREE ADMISSION - News-Miner

A special parade just for the young folks of
Fairbanks. Children dress up in their favorite Golden Days
costume and march through Pioneer Park. Prizes will be awarded
in various age categories with games, special performances and
refreshments. Registration 10am - Noon.
Comedy Night
6pm - 10pm; $10.00 in advance, $12.000
at the door, 12 & Under are FREE. News-Miner Tent @ Pioneer Park
The
evening will kick off with live music by Girls with Guitars and
lead into the Grizzly Alaskan contests, Hosted by Glen Anderson
and Jerry Evans. If you can grow abnormal amounts of body hair,
these are the contests for you. The best and bushiest beard or
mustache, the hairiest chest and the hairiest legs and Frontier
Feet - the ugliest feet, will be judged by our panel of
celebrity onlookers and cash prizes will be awarded. After
Glenner and Jerry have the crowd warmed up with their individual
comedy bits our featured comedian, Dan Grueter, will take over
the stage and continue the laughter. Grueter is one of the
fastest rising young stars on the comedy horizon. Packing an
excellent stage presence with impeccable timing, Dan has become
one of the most requested comedians on the comedy circuit. This
hard working comic has been a “road warrior” touring comedy
clubs all over the country for a number of years.
His zeal and hard work ethic at performing his
original material is laying the foundation for his Hollywood
Stardom. Appearances on the “Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn
(CBS), Friday Night (NBC), Dan has appeared on BET’s Comic View
and NBC’s Friday Night and VH1, Comedy Central, BET’S “COMIC
VIEW” the syndicated radio program “The Bob and Tom Show” and
numerous cable television appearances have made Dan one of the
most popular touring comedians today. He’s quick...he’s
clean...and by the end of the show you’ll fee you’ve known him
your whole life. Originally from Ohio, Dan spent years working
clubs and colleges before breaking through in Los Angeles where
he’s been tapped for his performing and writing skills. Dan is
currently working on his own show for NBC called “Be Careful
What You Wish For.”

Golden Days Street Fair
9am - 6pm; FREE ADMISSION - Downtown
Fairbanks
Visit a wide variety of unique vendors and enjoy a
fun-filled day in the heart of our great city. This street fair
inlcludes something for everyone - enjoy great food for sale by
a variety of vendors. Don't miss the music and entertainment to
suite all tastes! There will also be demonstrations, arts and
crafts, dunk tank, games for the kids and much, much more!
AT&T Alascom Grande Parade
10am; Downtown Fairbanks
The pinnacle of Golden Days activities and the largest
parade in Alaska! Hosting more than 100 entries including
marching bands, clowns, jugglers, antique cars, unicycle riders
and floats, the parade winds from the Carlson Center through
downtown, where it ends at Noble and Airport Way. The parade
will be broadcast LIVE by KTVF Channel 11.
GCI Yellow Page Rubber Duckie Race

2:30pm; Downtown Fairbanks
And they're off! All 6,000 rubber duckies totaling over
$20,000 in cash and prizes. On race day the, the yellow duckies
are dropped from the Wendell Street Bridge into the Chena
River. The numbered duckies float downstream to the finish line
at the Golden Heart Plaza at the Cushman Street Bridge.

Early Bird Drawing
Buy your tickets before Noon on Tuesday, June 26th, and you
