Fairbanks Native Association
Since 1990, the Fairbanks Native Association’s Johnson O’Malley Potlatch Dancers, a youth group performing authentic Native songs and dances, has served as ambassadors of the Native culture with their songs and dances providing a window into Native history and values. Opera Fairbanks
The only semi-professional group in Interior Alaska solely devoted to opera; Opera Fairbanks brings high-quality, live operatic performances. In addition the group provided educational, promotional, and performance opportunities. For more information call 457- 2780 or visit

Fairbanks Concert Association
The Fairbanks Concert Association, presently in its 60th season, presents eclectic professional performing arts series of the finest quality. Deeply committed to diversity, it addresses a wide variety of interests and rich cultural backgrounds in Fairbanks. FCA is keeping interior Alaska connected with “the world of performance.” Education is also a major part of their mission and FCA is the main provider of professional performing arts programs to the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District’s schools. Dance Theatre Fairbanks
Established in December of 2001, DTF continues the legacy and foundation of Pat Sims’ dance instruction and positive influence through the art of dance in the lives of our children, peers and community. They actively encourage awareness and appreciation for cultural similarities and differences through their instructors, ethnic workshops and exchanges. The corporation works in concert with multiple local, national and international artistic groups to broaden DTF’s student, faculty and audience exposure. For information call 452-1113.

Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival
This is a nationally recognized arts festival that brings more than 700 students and instructors into Fairbanks for two weeks of workshops, rehearsals and performances with studies in music, dance, theatre, ice-skating and the visual arts. Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre
Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre produces shows like “Broadway Encore” and “The Gondoliers.” The organization also contributes to the education of the community through F.L.O.T. North Star Dance Foundation
The foundation administers the North Star Ballet Company and North Star Ballet School. Fairbanks Community Band All rehearsals are 7-9 pm in the Old Train Depot (adjacent to the News-Miner building), across Phillips Field Rd from the (closed but prominent) Ace Hardware/OK Lumber building. The jazz band meets Wednesdays. The jazz band leader is Brian Cade. The concert band meets Thursdays. The director is Wendy Ward. Assistant director is Jim Fisher. The Greatland Sounds Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.,   a men's barbershop chorus, meets every Tuesday evening at 7 at the Church of Christ Northern Lights, 645 11th Ave. All men who enjoy singing are welcome to participate. (This announcement last updated by them in 2004.)

52nd Annual Cham Fashional (10/22/11) Sponsored by Quota International Fairbanks. Will be held at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel Gold Room, 7 p.m. (cocktails - champagne & hors d'oeuvres), choreographed Fashion Show at 8 p.m.,  dance till 1 a.m. to live music.  This is an annual fundraiser for Quota International Fairbanks, whose special interest is disadvantaged women & children, and those with speech & hearing impairments. Fairbanks Community Band All rehearsals are 7-9 pm in the Old Train Depot (adjacent to the News-Miner building), across Phillips Field Rd from the (closed but prominent) Ace Hardware/OK Lumber building. The jazz band meets Wednesdays. The jazz band leader is Brian Cade. The concert band meets Thursdays. The director is Wendy Ward. Assistant director is Jim Fisher. The Greatland Sounds Chapter of S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.,   a men's barbershop chorus, meets every Tuesday evening at 7 at the Church of Christ Northern Lights, 645 11th Ave. All men who enjoy singing are welcome to participate. (This announcement last updated by them in 2004.)

9th Army Band Holiday Concert (12/11/09) 7:30 p.m. The 9th Army "Arctic Groove Orchestra" will present this holiday concert at Hering Auditorium. Staff Sgt. Victor Burns will lead the Orchestra as they perform many well-known and a few not-so-well-known songs appropriate for the holidays. The concert is free and open to the public.
